What is the difference between user and owner password?

The user password is required to open the document. The owner password controls permissions like printing and editing. You can set both or just one.

Can the password protection be removed?

Only with the correct password. Strong encryption makes it computationally infeasible to crack without the password.

Will the PDF still be viewable in all PDF readers?

Yes, password-protected PDFs work in all standard PDF readers including Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, and Preview.

Does this work with scanned PDFs?

Yes, password protection works with any PDF including scanned documents, forms, and image-based PDFs.
